She decided to ignore everything he had just told her, not wanting to think about it, far less talk about it.
As she pulled away the last piece of the rubble the stairs were now fully cleared only waiting for them to leave.
"After you," she muttered as she took a few steps back, positioning herself behind him. She was hiding, she couldn't deny that. She didn't want to go downstairs fully volnurable without even a chance to react to any sudden attacks, or a way to defend herself.
She picked up the empty waterbottle and her bag with the rest of her things, which feeling the weight of it, wasn't much.

He laughed at her obvious fear, but he saw no problem with that. Then he could quickly integrate himself with whoever was out there and try and limit his involvement.
Looking around to check there was nothing left behind, he started to walk down the stairs. He looked back to her and smiled. 'I guess this is an appropriate time to say good luck then' he smirked.

She looked at him, but her pounding heart made it hard for her to hear or register his words. It took her a few seconds to realize what he meant, but his words only increased her fear, and she quickly wished she hadn't heard them at all.
"Don't think this changes anything," she said back spiteful, not willing to accept his good luck. She told herself she didn't need it. She would get through this, just like she had gotten through every situation in the past. His mocking words only made her want to prove him wrong.
"You're still a demon. And next time I see you will be the last," she said sternly, before looking past him down the stairs, making it clear she was waiting for him to move so she could get down as well. The quicker they left, the more chances of survival did she have.

He laughed off her comment, not making it obvious how much it irritated him.
'We'll see' he merely said, as he started to walk down the spiral staircase and out of her view.
Calling up he said, 'hurry up. Wouldn't want to be late now would we?' He laughed once more as he hurried up, clambering around and around until he was near to the Entrance Wing.
