Suspected Lies

Miriam did not care to knock on Frollo's door. She did not see this as a time to be considering being polite, but rather a time to focus on nothing that was not of the utmost importance. Miriam had only come to ask questions.
"Father, I have some things I need to ask," she told him, standing by the door as it closed behind her.
She realized she must have looked quite a mess, but did not take notice of it. Even the blade she dragged along was of no importance, and she hoped in times like these Frollo wouldn't waste her time by asking or acknowledging them.

Frollo turned around at the sound of the door being opened, and was about to point out how utterly rude it was to barge into someone elses room like that. However as he opened his mouth to speak, he quickly closed it again seeing the condition she was in.
Her cuts and bruises looked bad enough, but it was the blade that caught his attention. However he did not ask, as he figured if she wanted to share that information, or if it was in any way important, she would tell him herself.
"What is it child?" he asked, not bothering to offer her a seat. She looked so stern, he did not dare to say anything she had not expected him to answer to. And so he stayed in silence, standing up, waiting for her questions to come.

"How do demons seal deals?" she asked straight away. She didn't want to linger in his room for longer than she had to, and she only ever came to ask for one simple thing. It had bothered her ever since the incident in the spire not too long ago.

Frollo looked towards the blade and back to Miram before sighing in grief.
"Oh child, you didn't.. don't you know that your soul is worth so mu-" he started, but was quickly interrupted.

"Not a red-eyed demon," she interrupted him.
"A normal demon, a black-eyed one.. one that was just making an agreement of sorts, do they still need to... kiss?" she asked, hesitating the slightest on the last word as she remembered the feeling of his lips on hers.
A tingling spark went through her body as she shivered, disgusted by herself.
She wasn't sure why she would suspect the male demon to lie to her, but something had seemed off..

"Oh," Frollo said as she finally stopped speaking. It seemed weird to him, and he was having problems understanding the situation Miriam had found herself in to be asking him such questions. However it was not in his place to ask, she had come to him seeking guidance and truth, and nothing more. So guidence and truth was all he would give her.
"No, that is unheard of to me," he said. A deal with anyone but a crossroads demon was unheard of to him, but he was pretty sure in his case. The black-eyed demons did not hold the same magic as the red-eyed ones.

She didn't know whether to be delighted or horrified at his answer.
But why would the demon lie to her? What did he gain by kissing her? Was it all just a trick to make her show her weaknesses? A trick to mock her later on? She honestly did not know his reasons, nor did she think she wanted to.
But she was unsure, if she had known, would she still have...? No, that was absurd.
"Thank you," she muttered as she quickly left the bedroom, she had gotten what she came from.
Fucking demon, she thought as she quickly walked down the stairs.
